James Newton Howard’s score for Lady in the Water is one of my favourite film scores. It deservedly won three awards at the 2006 International Film Music Critics Awards (IFMCA) including ‘Film Score of the Year’.
The main theme is poignant and chorale-like, but transforms beautifully to match scenes of intrigue or triumph.
It would have been amazing to hear this score come together in the recording sessions.
